Proposal discussion

Question description

What: The term project is meant to help sharpen the application of the course content to your specific context of interest, and to give you the hands-on skills of going through documenting the Enterprise Architecture effort. The term project will involve choosing an organizational context, analyzing one or more of its business processes, diagnosing how it could be transformed into an IT-enabled and integrated process and providing recommendations for doing that.Business to be studied: You are encouraged to use your own company/organization or the one you know as the target business for this project (upon the approval of the instructor). If you do not have a real business to work with, you may pick one process within Towson University. Project Proposal (10%): Each team member must propose at least ONE potential organization and its process (real or fictitious) for the project before the group discussion and finally rank order all the ideas in the group. Your proposal write up should indicate the authorship of each potential business/process and the final group decision. The proposal is a short executive memo explaining what you are going to investigate, how you intend to do it, and why it is important to you. This is not meant to be “set in concrete,” but rather to push you to decide early. Your proposal should be around 2 pages double spaced. I will provide feedback to you quickly. In the memo you must include the following:  Authorship of the proposal: Group ID and all names of the contributing members CIS 239 Group Term Project  The ideas contributed by each group members. The order of the ideas should reflect the preference in the group (from the most preferred to the least preferred). For EACH proposal idea (individual piece), present the following: o Author of the idea o Name of the potential organization and the specific process(es) to be focused on o The strategic aspect that you will focus on (e.g. reducing time for the whole cycle of the process, increase revenue, etc) o how the data can be collected (e.g. interview of the stakeholders, web search, fictitious process based on readings and web search) o The author’s motivation, interest, and expectation of the project  Group’s motivation and interest, and what are expected to be achieved through the project  Any concerns or difficulties that you are concerned about  A preliminary time schedule. Your time schedule must not only contain the milestones specified in this description. Specify your internal deadlines in addition to the specified milestones to make sure the team will be able to finish the task on time. NOTE: After receiving the proposal from each group, the instructor will quickly review and let each team know which idea they are approved to proceed for this project. If the group intends to change topic after the start of the project, the team must discuss with the instructor for the appropriateness of the new topic. The order of the ideas in the list presented will help solve the problem when multiple teams proposed the same business and/or process. I will assign the business to each team based on the preference presented. I need 2 pages of the proposal.
