Positioned for PurposeAre you positioned for purpose? Are you prepared to be positioned for purpose? Joseph was positioned for purpose. He was thrown in an empty well by his own brothers; he was a slave and prisoner in Egypt; he became the governor in Egypt; he was position for purpose. Moses was positioned from the moment he was place in a basket on the river Nile to lead the Israelites to the promise land. He was positioned for purpose. After Moses died Joshua was in position to fulfill his purpose.

God positioned Joshua to lead his people across the river Jordan. He was positioned to lead the people around the walls of Jericho and the walls came tumbling down. Ester was in position to fulfill her purpose. Noah was in position to fulfill his purpose. Phoebe was in position to fulfill her purpose. What about you? Are you positioned for purpose? Before you are positioned for purpose you need to define your purpose; define who are; and whose you are.

However, defining your purpose; defining who you are; and whose you are is not complicated. Before you serve in your purpose, you must get rid of that mentality that you are not worthy or lack value. Everyone has a past but don’t let your past define your purpose. Before you serve in your purpose, you must position yourself. You need to be in prayer; you need to be in Sunday School and Bible Study; you need to study and seek God; if you are not a part of a church body, you need to connect with a ministry that is teaching the unadulterated word of god. Consider the following a warning. You will not be in position for purpose if you partake in the BYOB parties. Nope- it is not the bring your own bottle party but rather it is the Benefiting Your Own Body party. It is a fact that if you can’t benefit from it then you don’t want to do what you are asked to do or you don’t want to participate if you are not on the program. Let me let you in on something ” it’s not about you! You cannot draw anyone to Christ because all they see is you! 1 Timothy 4:8 states For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. Gal 5:13; 13 For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. YOUR PURPOSE IS TO SERVE. Ephesians 6:7; with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men. They think the more degrees they receive or the higher position they obtain will get them notoriety. Whatever your gifts and talents are, they’re meant to be used in service to others. Our abilities are not meant to be squandered on our own selfish desires. If you want to position yourself for purpose, stay away from the CIA saints. Saints that are Causing Interruption Always. Every time there is trouble, the CIA saints are in the middle. Every time the church tries to move forward in the vision and implement change, the CIA saints interrupt the flow with their negative thoughts, words, and deeds. They should realize that change is inevitable. If you want to position yourself for purpose don’t be influence by the MIA saints. Yes, those saints that are Missing In Action. Missing in Sunday School, missing at prayer, missing at Friday night service and Tuesday night bible study. Let me add a note to the MIA’s. God cannot use you if you are not there! When you do come to Sunday service, you act like you have been communing with god all week long. The devil is a lie and so are you. Where do you get off thinking that you can come when you want to and tell no body where you are where you going or how long you will be gone? You need to be accounted for. This is simply respect for leadership especially since they are your covering. Some of you say that you are supposedly in position to serve but you got hooked up with the PTA saints. Yes, the PTA saints- Pretending to be Anointed. You are so deep that you don’t understand what’s coming out of your own mouth. Rebuking what you think are spirits and you can’t even rebuke the spirit in your own self or home. Anointed folks don’t get mad at the pastor and stay out of church, anointed folks don’t get on the phone and speak negative about their leaders. Anointed folks listen to their leaders. Although anointed folks face some tough trials, they don’t fall out the ship when it gets tougher. Some of you may not latch on to a group but rather take a road trip. yes, R “O -A -D trip. You are Retired On Active Duty. It was the wrong road. Why was it the wrong road? Matthew 9:37 – Then He said to His disciples, The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Ecclesiastes 9:10 -Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest. 2 Thessalonians 3:13 – But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing . don’t get weary in well doing. Positioning yourself means connect with (drawing near) the A-B-C saints (Anointed By Christ) and the F-B-I saints (Faith Believing Intercessors). If you connect with them, you will eventually begin to smell like them. You will take on the fragrance of righteousness and the beauty of holiness. How many of you are a part of the FBI or ABC group but took the trip on the road and have gotten out of your position of purpose? How many of you have found yourselves in the MIA or CIA group? If you answered yes to those questions, get rid of the dead weight and get yourself in position to serve in your purpose.Get rid of the DEAD WEIGHTThere will be a time in your spiritual walk that you will say to the Lord whatever that is hindering me, . whatever that is weighing me down from moving forward in purpose. please help me to get rid of the dead weight! Hebrews 12:1 state Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Weight can be defined as a measure of the heaviness of an object. Weight can be defined as a heaviness, hindrance or burden. Weight will hinder you from moving or going forward. David said in 1 Samuel 17 that he cannot go with these (referring to the armor that was provided to him. Negative conversation is dead weight. Don’t speak negative about your pastor, your sister or brother whether you agree or disagree. Keep your mouth shut! If you need someone to tell, tell it to Jesus. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Don’t allow what people do or say influence a negative reaction by you. Some of you have not put off the former conversation. You are saying the same things now as before you got save. Some things should not come out of your mouth. That old nature needs to go.stop saying it is just me. God will create in you a clean heart and right spirit get rid of that old deceitful heart, proud haughty heart. Unforgiveness is dead weight. Mark 11:25 – And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. Unforgiveness stagnates you from moving forward in relationships. It keeps your mind weighed down with contentiousness thoughts and effects your ability to process facts from falsehood. Dead Thoughts can weigh you down.Even right now, your thoughts are keeping you from receiving the word of the Lord. That within itself is dead weight. Nobody can tell you anything or give you spiritual guidance because you think you know it all. God can use a child and you will not receive it because you think that God can’t use that individual. That type of thinking is dead weight. You can’t receive the church mother’s guidance because you think that she is this or she is that and/or beneath your title or status. You think yourself more highly. The devil is a lie! Those thoughts are dead weight and you will not move forward until you get rid of the dead weight! Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith. Dead thinking is dead weight. You think that no one cares. You think that no one understands. You think you are a failure. You think that you will fall. You must replace those dead thoughts with thoughts of the word which states: Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me; Proverbs 4:12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, And when you run, you will not stumble. If the Lord delights in a man’s way, he makes his steps firm; though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand; Proverbs 23: 7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. Eat and drink! he says to you, but his heart is not with you. If you think negative, then you can expect a less than positive outcome. Laziness and Slothfulness is dead weight. You say that the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. what about the first part to that? Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak You failed to watch and pray! Prov 19:24 A lazy man buries his hand in the bowl, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again. Eccl 10:18 Because of laziness the building decays, and through idleness of hands the house leaks. There are many other things (proudness, negative attitude, deadbeat friends, etc.) that can be dead weight. I only touched on a few. Examine yourself for areas in your life that could be keeping you from moving forward in serving God in fullness.
