in your field. Now it is time to put on your "creative hat" and come
up with your own ethical issues. Again, utilizing the spectrum of
business that your company falls under research and or formulate ethical
situations that may not currently be plaguing the field but that are
of high concern and must be addressed.
Please write a 2-3 page paper, using proper APA Formatting and
including each of the minimum of three ethical issues that are not
currently trending. For each issue you are asked to identify and
summarize the ethical concern itself and subsequently analyze the
concern and what troubles it may bring to the company, the employee or
both.Background info on the company....Trotrees Company Limited is a
firm that specializes in the production
of timber products. The company is one that seeks to exploit the gap in the wood industry by providing household furniture
that producers have over time forgotten. Owing
to the plenty availability of timber in Canada, the company imports raw
materials, timber, used in production from Canada in bulk and proceeds to use
the imported raw material to make the finished products. Further sales are made
locally and internationally which makes the company an international venture. It
is not yet publicly traded and is, therefore, a family business for the Tronk
family.
The company was started in 2006 and is now ten years old. It has
a workforce of five hundred and forty-one
workers. The company is headed by the Chief
Executive Officer, who is seconded by managers in the departments of procurement,
production, human resource and sales. The employees, through their hard work, are
part of the reason the company clocked
the million-dollar mark in profit in the 2014/2015 financial year. The success
did not come without its challenges as it put the company on a pedestal and paved
way for critics. Most criticisms came
from environmentalists who were against the company for cutting trees. The
company, in a bid to counter the complaints, set up a department that solely
deals with reforestation in places where the corporation
has been involved with tree cutting. The department,
one of the most successful departments in the enterprise,
has planted more than a thousand trees in the 2015/2016 financial year. It does
not only plant trees in Canada but also works hand in hand with some
environmental conservation groups in campaigning for the clean and efficient use of energy.
