At a minimum, each student will be expected to post an
original and thoughtful response to the DB question and contribute to the
weekly dialogue by responding to at least two other posts from students.Britney BakerMechanistic structures are focused of having people do one
thing that they do best more often than anything else. Decision making comes
from the people who are on top in the company, others do not have as much of a
say in the decision making process.Organic structures focus on team work. Everyone has a say in
things, there is face to face contact to gain input from everyone and employees
work together and play off each others tasks.These two structures do not have many similarities, both
like to focus on employees tasks, but one allows everyone to play off of them,
while the other just let's each person work individually focus on their owns
tasks.I believe that the best way to run things is to use an
organic structure, this allows everyone to have a say in things and allows for
more happiness across all employees. Our organization has both. Our corprate
offices has more of a mechanistic structure, they make decisions for us, they
do not speak to us through more than email, we are not very fond of that
structure, they control our store without knowing what goes on in it. Our store
though has an organismic structure which I prefer. Everyone has a say in what
goes one, we ask everyone their opinion before making decisions. I believe that
this works great, everyone has strengths and we play off of them to create a
smooth running store.
