Another common viral infection is the flu, which is caused by influenza viruses. Symptoms of the flu include fever, body aches, fatigue, and a cough. The flu can be prevented through vaccination, and antiviral medications, such as oseltamivir (Tamiflu) and zanamivir (Relenza), can be used to reduce the severity and duration of symptoms if taken within 48 hours of onset.

-Herpes simplex virus infections, which can cause cold sores and genital herpes.

Vaccines can be used to prevent many viral infections such as Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, HPV (Human Papillomavirus), Influenza and HPV.
Many viral infections can be prevented through good hygiene practices such as washing hands frequently, avoiding close contact with sick individuals, and not touching the face.
