Alternative IR Theories
INTRO
Under the umbrella term reflectivism we find a range of present-day IR theories.
These schools of thought lack unity in their approach to world politics, just sharing
the fact that they are ongoing projects. Two of them are:
β’ Feminism (applied to foreign relations).
β’ Green Theory.
ASSIGNMENT
Write an essay on one of the proposed contemporary perspectives. You can make
your choice on the basis of personal preference beforehand or once you have
superficially researched both topics. Reading the introductory PDFs at your
disposal in Teams might help you start out.
GUIDELINES
Structure your paper in accordance with this model:
β’ Begin with a short historical contextualization.
β’ Describe the main ideas of the school of thought.
β’ Select a few major authors among its scholars and analysts.
β’ Explain in detail the most important contributions of each major theorist.
β’ Draw your own conclusion on the schoolβs approach to IR.
Do not forget to mention the influences behind the theories.
